I have no idea why the new superintendent’s contract has this staple from the 60s playing in my head, but earworms are for sharing.
Here it is:
- $320,000 annual salary
- Use of a district car (personal use forbidden) or reimbursement of expenses
- Reimbursement of reasonable business expenses
- District cell phone
- Health insurance benefits that are available to other ‘managerial’ employees
- Life insurance premium not to exceed $2500 to maintain the existing $750,000 policy he already has
- No FRS contribution. (He’s not eligible.) 8.62% contribution to voluntary account, which is $27,584 per year. The amount will be recalculated in succeeding years.
- Holidays will be same as other 12 month employees
- Vacation leave at 2 days per month not to exceed 62 days.
- Sick leave at 1 day per month
- $15,000 in moving expenses or actual amount, whichever is less as documented by receipts.
- Professional development: appropriate memberships will be paid, expenses and travel up to 25 days a year as approved by the Board Chair.
- Annual evaluation.
- Legal expenses will be covered if related to employment unless they result from gross negligence or willful misconduct
- Board may unilaterally terminate employment. In that case, 20 weeks of pay if superintendent signs a legal release of liability, plus payout of accrued sick leave and up to 60 days of vacation leave
Contract to run from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028.
